The ESP32 DEVKIT V1 is the successor to the ESP8266 and in almost every respect the bigger tool: two processor cores up to 240 MHz, WiFi and Bluetooth, considerably more connections, and peripherals you would otherwise have to add externally — analogue inputs and outputs, touch inputs, CAN, I2S. For anything that does more than send one reading, it is the right board: several sensors at once, a display alongside, Bluetooth to a phone, and still headroom for your own logic.
- 2 × 240 MHzXtensa LX6, 4 MiB flash
- WiFi + BT802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.2
- 18 channelsanalogue input, 12 bit
- 30 pinsmicro-USB for programming
What it is made for
- Two cores, two jobs: radio and application run separately. That is why time-critical measurements work here, where a single-core board drops out while transmitting.
- Bluetooth included: classic and Low Energy. Setting up from a phone or reading BLE sensors needs no second module.
- Analogue and touch without extra parts: up to 18 analogue inputs, two analogue outputs and ten capacitive touch inputs. A control panel without mechanical buttons becomes a question of programming rather than mechanics.
- All the usual buses several times over: four SPI, two I2C, three UART, plus CAN and I2S for audio. Several devices at once is no squeeze.
- Frugal at rest: a separate coprocessor can measure while the main processor sleeps — the basis for battery-powered builds.

Help with the choice
Unsure whether your project needs the ESP32 or whether an ESP8266 is enough? The rule of thumb: as soon as Bluetooth, several analogue measurements or time-critical sequences are involved, the bigger chip pays off. Describe briefly what you want to build. And if it turns into a project — sizing, pre-configuration or commissioning — we will gladly put together a quote.

Tiptop, tut genau, was es soll.
